Recognizing its social responsibility, Astarta-Kyiv pays much attention to charity. We support those who need help the most: orphan homes, hospitals, schools, churches, as well as veterans of War.
We pay most attention to children, as they are our future. We take care of schools, located in the towns and villages where our companies operate, including Yaresky High School named after F. P. Borodko, Shyshaky Gymnasia, Mykhailivka boarding school.
We pay for the best students from these schools to get higher education, support children football teams, organize sightseeing tour for contest winners, help to buy new equipment, as well as provide other assistance.
We take care of those children who suffered much. Astarta-Kyiv provides charity to Kolyska Dytiachoi Nadii Orphan Home (Kyiv Oblast), Velyki Sorochyntsi boarding school for children with minor tuberculosis. There is a good tradition to congratulate children to different holidays and to organize sightseeing tours.
It is also important that the Company creates jobs, especially in the village regions of Poltava and Vinnytsia oblasts. The total number of our employees is about 7000. It makes a significant social impact on the Ukrainian countryside, which suffers from unemployment problem.
From January 2008, ASTARTA voluntarily took the liabilities to support the UN Global Compact (GC) initiative and to develop under the principles of social responsibility. On January 2010, ASTARTA published its first report "Communication on Progress" for 2008-2009 that was prepared within the framework of the UN GC membership.
